There are 51 lessons in this unit study. Each lesson can be done in one school day. Each daily lesson time can vary from about 30 min to 2 hours depending on the lesson projects, state review activities, and the optional resources you choose to use. Its flexible so you can tailor it to your classroom. This manual teaches the states alphabetically. The lessons are divided into 3 sections. At the end of each section you can do some of the fun review games, activities, and tests. I have created variation between each lesson so that your students stay engaged and challenged rather than filling out the same facts on the same worksheet for every state- you will not find that in this curriculum. There is even a Math Challenge at the end of lesson 51 that you can photocopy for your students. This worksheet will walk them through a process of adding groups of state populations to get the total population of USA. You will also find some fun fall activities and Christmas crafts related to some of the states so you can incorporate fun holiday activities as you learn about USA geography and history topics.
